First wax on new car
I did some seaching, but still trying to figure out if I should just wax my week old car or do a polish then wax. The finish looks perfect, but the car is definitely lacking wax. I would guess the dealer did some kind of spray on wax. I washed the car for the first time this weekend, and I could feel the friction of the dirt not wanting to come off the side panels. In comparison my other car with a 3 month old wax job cleaned much more easily. Standard (old?) knowledge is not to mess with the finish too much for 3-6 months, as the paint is not fully cured (the car was built in late July) By the way, I use Adam's products. Thanks for any help!

The paint is baked at the factory, it's cured. Use a mild polish to get out the "dealer installed swirls" then throw a coat of seal over it and you'll be good to go.

I would recommend a very light clay over all areas to remove any surface contaminants, follow up with quality sealant or wax. This way anything that may have attached to the paint would be removed and paintwork is properly prepped. You would be surprised the amount of junk thats on a vehicles paint even when its new and just purchased.....Hope this helps!
