A Bulletin to ALL Coral Red Interior Owners!

if you have yet to properly condition your interior and leather yet, do it now! the color that was delivered to you from the factory and the dealer [that pasty redish that has a whiteish hue] is NOT the real color of the leather. i just got done properly conditioning the leather in my car, and the result is a VERY deep and bloodish red! i personally used the gloss-it satin leather polish, but any quality product ought to get the job done!

I also notice a change in the hue of the leather after a conditioner treatment. Much deeper and brighter. More of a true Red over the Orange/Pinkish hue.

I clean and condition once every 3 months or so. More frequently on tops of the rear seats and headrests. They were rock hard and dry after a year without window tint.

Any links to proper cleaning/conditioning car interiors and exteriors? I am very good with my cars mechanical, tuning and modding wise, but I am very uninformed when I comes to cosmetic detail, all I know how to do is wash and dry.

I use Leatherique on mine, it's Very Easy. I followed their instructions, first apply the oil with a sea sponge, then cover the seats with black garbage bags and bake it under the sun for a few hours, then use their cleaner with a few clean white lint free cloth to remove all the crap that floats out from the leather, Done!

The result is amazing. It doesn't leave the leather all shiny like other brands of leather cleaner/conditioner. It retains the matte look I love. Also, it took away that while haze that comes from factory. I think that white haze is caused by the dyeing process, which leaves the leather really dry. I've to use a good amount of oil on each seat, the leather just soak them all up. The leather feel much softer after and looks much better as well.

Speaking of the leather, I just noticed my left side bolster on the seat portion of my front seat looks like its cracking. I find this odd because I have only 4000 miles on the car and condition the leather with Zaino leather products. I also did not have this issue with my prior 08 135i with red interior. I think its time for a dealer trip.
