Trying to order F10 M5 but is dealer ripping me off..??

Hi,

About to push the button and order the new beast...but the part exchange price I am being offered for my E60 seems like daylight robbery.

I am being offered £17k GBP. It is May 2006, Carbon black, black full leather, 30k miles, very decent spec, good conditon.

On BMW Website the equivalent cars (but with more miles and less optins) are going for £24-26k. Even taking into consideration the dealers preparation costs to get my E60 ready for re-sale, the margin they make (£2k or thereabouts) this makes £17k seem very low to me.

Anyone part exchange an E60 for F10 or been in a simialr predicament?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Unfortunately the dealers almost seem to gouge on trade in pricing Though £11k off their retail pricing seems like an awful lot!

Any other dealers you can try to get a better trade-in appraisal at?

I agree, I might spend Saturday driving to a few and getting a few appraisals and pitting them against each other. If they want your business they will adjust the margin. I would think something in the £20k-22k range would be fair for trade; or there is always the classifieds.

I can only say that BMW dealers are all on different pages when it comes to pricing. Shop around, it'll be worth it.

I did this with my old 4Runner. Had three dealers in a bit of a bidding war for it. Got about $4000 above the first low-ball offer received. I know it's not an M5, but principle still applies.

Thanks for the advice - did some shopping around today and outside London you defintely get more for your p-ex. Not surprising I suppose, was hoping I could depend on my local dealer but als. Latest offer is now £19.5k

Yeah I find local dealer is the the worst sales/service support. Sad.

Wish BMW Canada would fix that sht.

Great news. Let us know how much you end up getting for it.
