K&N install & CEL + limp mode
I installed a K&N drop-in last Thursday. I got two CEL and reduce power warnings on the way to the track on Saturday . Fixed by shutting down the engine and re-starting. Then on the track, on my first session, I got two other CEL and reduced power . I was quite anoyed as I had to pit and restart the car to get rid of the problem. Loosing precious track time . Then, I had a CEL for increased emisions but no reduced power. It stayed on for half the day and then disapeared.
The good news though, is that after the limp modes the car seemed to run much smoother and semmed to breath better . I am guessing the car's ECU was adapting to the new filter . Or is it totally unrelated... Has anybody else seen this??? Last edited by CanAutM3; 05-01-2012 at 08:30 AM.. |

Seems odd. You'd have to check the codes though.
