Scratched Hood :(
So I managed to scratch the hood up bad when DIYing the camber plates... It's a 0 speed garage door incident... Anyhow. Am I looking for a detailer or a painter for this? Would there be any options short of a full repaint? I'm also gonna contact my auto body guy tomorrow also to see if he can give me a quick assessment of damages...

Hard to tell in photos just how bad it is. Can you feel a definite ridge? Pick up a simple, hand polish like Meguiars Scratch X and a microfiber towel and see how much you can correct by hand. There's a good chance that you can significantly clean it up by hand and that a professional with a rotary, wool pads and proper polish can completely fix it.
If it's deeper than that, I'd strongly recommend finding an airbrush expert to repair it, body shops are an absolute last resort. |

Is it all the way through to the metal? Clay it, polish it and see if that makes it better. I would probably not have your entire bonnet repainted.
Try to fix it as much yourself as possible. I have seen great work being done with just a toothpick, lots of patience and OEM touch up paint. |
