Welcome Nigel and congratulations!
Hopeful drive your new vehicle with more respect than the Mini at Winton

Sorry no idea on wheels, but I've been thinking about buying a similar black GTS rims (Turner Motorsport) which Alpine mentioned six odd months ago ...

Hi Doc.

Hahahaha, I think the 1M demands more respect from me. Looking forward to catching up with you at the meet on the 28th if you're coming.

Welcome and congrats Nigel, you picked the No 1 colour too

As I say to all Mexicans, go here ------>Final Inspection

Damian at FI will set your car up for you cosmetically and also has a great contact that does wheels, he did a restoration on Damian's family owned Fezza F40 and they came up a treat.

Enjoy!

Congrats and welcome mate. All depends if you have the time and don't mind getting your hands dirty.
I jacked the car up on stands and removed wheels.

Took rims only to a professional car wheel painter and had them painted with 3 coats of 2 pac enamel. Total cost with re balancing the wheels and RR tyres was under $600.

Wheel Solutions in Richmond, can do it for $150/wheel, highly recommended.

Depends if you want paint or powdercoat, which depends on the finish you want too - either way $150/wheel should be doable, powdercoating places being easy to find in industrial areas

As far as i know a powdercoat will be a bit more resistant to scratches and chips as it's fully baked on

hey Nigel Begg

Ive got my wheel powder coated about a year ago.. wheels tyres off and and powder coated all over. cost me $800
I had a nightmare when i got new tyres fitted.. there is a possibility when removing the tyres the paint will chip and crack.. no matter how careful the tyres fitters are..
mounting new tyres with chip/crack paint can cause air pressure to leak.

I believe there is a cure time for the paint to dry proper of 36 hours or 36days even if you do get the wheel baked in an oven..
(please dont hold me to that as im not a specialist painter)
but just coming from experience the paint does not fully dry up over a few days for me.

Masked the inside of the rim- leave that unpainted to prevent any issue with your tyre fitter.. slow leaks and chip/ crack paint

Thony

I know a place in sw sydney that has a new process called ecoat, kinda like powder coating but it bonds (and penetrates the metal) much better than powdercoat, if anyone is interested ill ask if they can do wheels (they mainly service the mining industry).
