Yes piping needs to be purchased as well, I'm only selling the intercooler core itself.
As for why I'm selling, I decided to go a easier route with the trimming, I'll probably be going with a 5" core from ets, or vrsf when they come out with one. I still have my factory warranty and don't want to risk anything.
