Weird ticking sound

I have this ticking sound that sounds like its coming from the engine but the car does not make the sound when at idle or when reving it. It only makes this weird ticking sound when I am driving under 3500 rpm and give it gas fast. This happens in every gear, It sort of sounds like the bearing sound but if it were that it would make it all the time right? And whoever had this m3 before me must of not knew how to drive because my clutch chatters a lot of the time when starting off (6mt). Which is weird because there's only 30,000 km on the car. Could a bad clutch be making that sort of sound ? Anybody else experience this ? or have a clutch that chatters often?

If you are only hearing it when you are getting on the throttle under 3500RPM you are just hearing the normal induction noise that the S65 makes.

Trust me it is completely normal!

I got the ticking sound too, but only for the past 2 days and I drove around and it was corresponding to rpm as well... but it went away tonight when I started the car...

I am pretty sure it wasn't the valvetrains making noise, it was pretty loud... any idea what happened?

mine does this as well, under heavy load at around 2500-3500 rpm, but just during the initial snap of throttle input. also just one tick, chirp, or what ever you would call it. i thought is was the ac compressor or something. does this sound like what you are hearing? i have a 6mt as well, but i have owned mine since new. i was considering having the dealer take a look at it but wasn't sure if it was normal.

2008 6MT here, and i am not sure if we are talking about the same noise

but i am hearing some type of "noose bolt rattle" / "pipe vibrating" / "clicking/ticking" sound coming from under the engine area. I hear it at low RPMs, 1700-2500, and more noticeable in 4th and 6th.

different noise, it isn't a constant noise and only is audible once while going from partial throttle to wide open throttle, and its not due to traction loss.

That is not the same sound. Mine is one or two ticks quickly as soon as you give it gas at low rpms and no ticking at idle. Yours is doing it at idle and seems to sound like your bearings.

I have heard this in low rpms but mine is a '11. Tech checked all connections and clamps and everything was and is secure. Will have to comment if I hear it again.

My 2011 ZCP DCT sounds identical to yours. I'd love to know what this is. I've replaced my Rod bearings already and I feel like this is the crank producing this noise but I'm no mechanic.

I thought yours was fixed when you replaced the bearings?
