I'm contemplating investing in coilovers for my 1M, so wondering who locally is running an Ohlins setup and details (which springs?). Also, did u source locally or from o/s?
Thanks in advance... |

The guys at Advan have seen plenty of them on race and track cars over the years. |

PeteA as well as Nugget are running them from memory. I think Nugget ordered them from an Australian dealer and Pete from HPA.

The 1M is a different kit though(same as M3), and most people seem to run the springs that come with the kit. |

Mines a hybrid set. 135i front 1M rear (did camber link conversion).
Swift sprints also (7" 60Nm / 9" 120Nm) if I recall. Check build thread for details. If you have any targeted questions let myself or nugget know. Going a 7" front sprint helped bigtime on wheel clearance btw so I recommend that. |

Thanks guys, appreciate prompt response. Just started looking in to this...
I've seen Harold's blurb on Swift springs, just curious to see how that translates for you in DD or track work. Any comparison to stock springs? |

I have swift springs matched to my moton Clubsport shocks. 135i fronts and 1M/M3 rear with solid subframe bushes. 560lb/10kg fronts and 800lb/14kg rears. Even though they're 2-3x the stock spring stiffness with the shocks set to full soft it's pretty good for daily driving.
Happy to take you for a ride sometime.

I initially used the front spring that came with the kit and a rear swift spring. Then switched to a shorter stiffer front spring because of tyre clearance issues. I think the ride actually got better when I did that, maybe because front/rear balance was better, I'm no expert though. Car is definitely firm but still rides nicely IMO. It's definitel stiff enough for my tyres on the track as well (I'm not using R-Comps yet). Here is a comparison of the springs that come with the Non-M E90/E82 kit and the swift springs I ended up with. |

Guys, thanks for your help. I was at a decision point to either sell the car or spend some serious dough on it...suspension etc. I've gone with the former.
I'll loiter around and hope to see some u folks at meets etc. |

I couldn't come to terms with the new M4 pricing. With a handful of decent options (LED, full Leather, no CCB or Sunroof) the price came out at over $190....insane! I cancelled my build slot, which is in 3wks.

I set out to buy a CaymanS, but In the end couldn't justify $40k extra when 2.7 PDK ( with sports chrono) feels at least 90% same. |

But a 1M was about 35k more than a 135i for basically the same bump in performance between a Cayman and Cayman S? *flame suit on!*
