To put it in perspective, the new M4 does it in 7:52 (with aircon and sound system of coz)

That is in the hands of HvS, which also means one warm up ans one timed lap. I guarantee you that the official BMW test driver would have gone much faster than that! Also, the M4 time was done on PSS, not Cup tyres like the Renault.

Those little French hatches are mighty impressive. I'm not sure about the build quality/longevity but they sure know how to make a new one go fast around the ring!

I've been waiting for Renault to release the RS with paddle shift like our 135's. Would be an instant buy for me. Have driven one and LOVED IT!
But 65k no radio and a/c.. kinda reminds me of the Mugen Civic RR.. not for me. |

I recently purchased a 135i, my previous cars were a megane RS250, 370Z and Lancer Evolution 8. To my surprise the 135i is the worst handling car of the group, it loves to understeer and it feels like a boat with the amount of bodyroll in corners. The best handling car in oem configuration from my list was the the Renault megane RS250.
Renaultsport really know how to make a car handle. The megane RS250/265/275 has a unique suspension setup that separates the steering axis and drive axis to eliminate torque steer. This suspension setup combined with a mechanical lsd will change your perception on the need for rwd and awd. If you get a chance, drive one you will be very surprised.
