gofast182 wroteRight. I guess I will try to live with it for a while to see if I can get used to it. Otherwise I will talk to the dealer again. So they agreed the noise exists but then they could not hear it?! That would infuriate me. What's your plan now?
Did you try bringing up the issue with your dealership?
hullyoung wroteNot yet, I'm fighting my battles one at a time. The doors on our car have a cheap latching sound when they close, rather than just a thunk, which BMW says is normal (even though they fixed it one one door by adjusting it). It's stressful to argue these issues that are somewhat subjective so I didn't want to hit them with both things at once, be told they're both normal, then hate them and want to set the car on fire.Right. I guess I will try to live with it for a while to see if I can get used to it. Otherwise I will talk to the dealer again.

FYI I started to notice a new squeak/noise from driver side b-pillar when driving and turning on a low speed. Will have that checked as well.
salvatorexiang wroteUnfortunately yes...I called BMW North American and talked about this issue. Their response is that they stand behind dealerships' diagnoses. They said they noted my complaint down.Looks like no one had this problem fixed yet ...
Folks if you have some time please do reach out to BMW NA to raise this concern. If we have enough people complain about this issue, they will probably look into it (hopefully).

"BMW provides a manufacturer's warranty that is valid for four years or 80,000km, whichever should come first, to cover any manufacturing defects discovered in your vehicle during the warranty parameters. Therefore, for the electrical noise from the center console we recommend you to get it diagnosed at your authorized BMW retailer. Once the retailer stated that was a manufacture defect then call us back, we would be happy to review your request."
Yes it's coming out of the speakers, it's intermittent, seems to be worse with the climate control on.
I've been driving with the window slightly open so I don't hear it. Not an ideal solution and not something I should have to do in a $70k+ car.
gofast182 wroteAwesome! Thank you for the update!!Well mine is at the dealer right now getting a replacement part from BMW engineering (they opened an engineering case to solve the issue). I'll report back whether it's fixed and what the part they replaced is.

Looks like the part was a receiver audio module P/N: 65 12 7 928 577. This part is apparently located in the rear cargo area.
gofast182 wroteWow that's great news! It would be awesome if I you could take a listen and confirm it is fixed. I will reach out to my dealer to do the same. After a long delay getting the special order part it was installed yesterday. I haven't spent much time with the car other than to drive it home from the dealer but the high pitched tone coming from the speakers is significantly less if not gone. Will confirm.

gofast182 wroteHmm that sucks, my car is due for an oil change and I will ask the dealer to work on the problem again. Will update you guys.OK so the high-pitched tone coming from the speakers is fixed but the one coming from the dash is not.
