AndroidRobot wroteThanks for the infoyou need a ton of parts but it should be possible with the hardware + coding.
Bimmer50 wroteI'm not sure how to post a question but here goes. Has anyone inquired into whether the surround camera package can be added to the G05 after delivery. When I ordered mine, I ordered it with off-road package. Dealership told me the camera package would come with the off-road package. He was mistaken. I was just wondering if it's possible to add that package later.

but I doubt dealers would do it. Like it is not an option that can be retrofitted officially
mattsrs wroteThat's what I was afraid of. Don't know if I would even use it that much.Bimmer50 wroteI'm not sure how to post a question but here goes. Bimmer50 wroteI really enjoy mine and use it every time I park. Not sure but if the wiring is already there then it really wouldn't take all that much to do. On the F150 forum I was on when I had my truck guys where doing it often since the wiring harness was the same for all trucks, meaning plug and play and stopping in the dealer asking them to turn the function on was the toughest part. But once again its like once someone does it the guide and info is there for others. That's what I was afraid of. Don't know if I would even use it that much.
I would assume it will be costly....
Tenac wroteThanks. Good to know. I may have to talk to them at the dealership.Bimmer50 wroteI really enjoy mine and use it every time I park. Aliendrive wroteUnfortunately I picked it up in Spartanburg in February. I still love the car. That is just an option that I should have gotten. If you haven't taken delivery you can have them order you a new one with the option since they misled you. I use mine all the time and would be a deal breaker for me.
ivieisme wroteMine tooThat's my biggest regret, not getting that. 😢
frank19x5 wroteWise. With the off-road package that I ordered the surround cameras would come in real handy. I just wish the dealership would've been more aware of that. But, it is a new vehicle. And I guess they aren't aware of everything. The main reason I ordered is that my wife's Nissan Leaf has surround cameras, and that wasn't even an option for my Tesla. My wife would remind me of that everytime we took her Leaf anywhere. Now she won't be able to do that anymore.
Bimmer50 wroteYeah, unfortunate that the dealer didn't know. I can see how the surround cameras would be extremely helpful in off road situations. Most if not all of the X5 off-road review videos I watched emphasized the surround cameras. Have you taken delivery yet? If not, you should seriously consider cancelling the order and placing a new order with the surround cameras, especially since it was the dealer's mistake. But in any case, you're not obligated to accept delivery even if you change your mind for any reason.Wise. With the off-road package that I ordered the surround cameras would come in real handy. frank19x5 wroteI accepted delivery in February. So that course is pretty much gone. I'll just have to live with it. Bimmer50 wroteI made the same mistake, thinking it was part of the premium package, which it was at one point then they created premium package 2 which took it out. Anyway, i asked my dealer to research how we could add the surround view. All it needs is 3 cameras and enabling the software for it.
They told me the wiring harness does not have the connections in the mirror or grill for the cameras. Now whether or not that is true I don't know. I suppose you can take apart one of the mirrors to find out.
I would be interesting to know if your dealer said the same thing.

I understand cost might not be ideal, but it's basically the one thing I am missing that would make my car perfect. I have a 2023 x5 m50i for reference...

It has also enabled Drive Recorder,Remote 3d Camera view and Remote Parking.
The excellent coding has not been affected by recent software updates.
Here is the kit for $800 if you are a DIYer. I can get you ISTA wiring diagrams to help with installing but you have to find somebody to code it which can be done remotely for $150.
ADIUK wroteThis is awesome to hear. I would certainly pay that price to have this done. Do you know if it meant only for LCI models? Mine is Pre LCI of course.Had mine done in the UK.

Mikhalidis wroteUnfortunately I'm not comfortable trying to attempt this install myself. Do you believe this type of install is something a capable car shop can perform? Just trying to understand complexity and how many mechanics etc would sign up for this project. Again, my car is 2023 so pre PCI.https://www.alibaba.com/x/B1Xuxc?ck=pdp
