Mikhalidis wroteHonestly I'm willing to pay up. It's a feature my wife specifically finds handy as she struggles in tight spaces with a car this large. Maybe I will ask some local independent shops here their thoughts here in Dallas. It’s very technically easy to do. I can probably do it in 4-5 hours but the problem is a shop will charge you labor by the hour at $180-$250 per hour which will make it too expensive.
It is "wide angle" compared to the standard reversing camera.
Total installation time was just under 5 hours which included the coding.
Mikhalidis wroteThanks - but fundamentally the same mirror housing would work? Same goes for bumper, assuming they'll just find a spot where they can mount said camera versus having to do something custom to the bumper. You already have a reversing camera correct? they would just need to add 1 camera in each mirror (which is easy to do) and 1 camera in the front bumper then run the wires to the left driver footwell and install the module there. Access to the left driver footwell takes 5 minutes and access to each mirror takes 20 minutes. Gonna have to run the wire harness through the door which is gonna require them to take the door trim off and that does take a bit of time. Then have to take off the front bumper (that’s probably about 30 mins). Then they have to run wires from engine bay to the left driver footwell well. Taking off the bumper and running wires from engine bay is what’s going to take the most time. You are pre-LCI so coding shouldn’t be an issue.
ADIUK wroteDoes the coding get wiped out or over-ridden after a software update? The rear camera is different.

Mikhalidis wroteThey are on my 2021...can't say about other model years, or option packages. If someone insists, I could take a picture, but it would likely be nearer the end of this week, as I have no plans to go anywhere, and can't get a good shot in the garage.I have the full package and just checked mine definitely does not have cameras on the fenders.
Line Drive wroteNo had two updates since and all coding is ok.Does the coding get wiped out or over-ridden after a software update?
As previously said, the coding also enables Drive Recorder,Remote 3d View and Remote Parking.
On my LCI there is only 1 front "wide angle" camera, which like the rear camera give great panoramic views when emerging from a tight spot.
Mikhalidis wroteThank you. Okay, now the elephant in the room: how trustworthy are these kits that are clearly not OEM parts? If they are generally reliable and function as intended, then I am good to go. Really wish I had a shop like gentleman in the UK who specifically stated they use OEM parts and do the whole installation as one package.I think the kit on alibaba comes with housing for mirror and front bumper camera and wide camera replacement for rear
PCar2Bcar wroteThe alibaba kits are original BMW. Some parts are brand new and some parts are used/refurbished. I don’t have experience with 360 camera kits or this specific vendor but I got a 5AU driving assistant professional retrofit kit from alibaba/ChinA. All original bmw and all clean. Everything worked. The alternative is to find the required part numbers for the 4 cameras, module, mirror and front bumper housing on realoem and buy them used on eBay then buy the wire harness separately from alibaba/aliexpress.Thank you. Mikhalidis wroteSame, have every option on my ‘22 and there are no cameras on the fenders. Just one in the front grill, one in each side mirror, and the one rear camera. When pulling out of a blind spot and I switch to the front panoramic wide view it’s only using the camera in the grill.I have the full package and just checked mine definitely does not have cameras on the fenders.
bikrboy128 wroteWhich kit did you buy? The alibaba one?My 21 has every option but the surround view, so I picked up one one of these kits and the kit I received has OEM cameras and module. Wiring harnesses are obviously custom but seem to be good quality. Now I just need to find the time to install all this. Definitely not a plug and play deal
PCar2Bcar wroteIt was from another member on this forum, but it shipped from china so I can only assume the one on alibaba is the same kit.Which kit did you buy? The alibaba one?
Mikhalidis wroteHi there- I actually purchased the Emtronika 5DN (Parking Professional Plus) Retrofit for G05. My installer ran into some trouble and couldnt complete it because of the wiring harness/ cables issue. Would you mind sharing the ISTA wiring Diagram? Have a 2023 G05, pre-LCIhttps://www.alibaba.com/x/B1Xuxc?ck=pdp
Here is the kit for $800 if you are a DIYer. I can get you ISTA wiring diagrams to help with installing but you have to find somebody to code it which can be done remotely for $150.
Here’s link to Emtronika, and I emailed them directly with my VIN and they confirmed compatibility.
