There is a guy bimmerworks romania in Facebook who is providing pops bangs burbles mod even in 2020 models after July with ECU Locked and remotely you need only enet cable and laptop with Windows.

I am asking here how is possible because I think I have read before in forums that there is a second ECU which controls pops bangs etc.

Yes he looks to be legit and I remember seeing before F90 same way modded for pops bangs.

$200 seems reasonable. I’ve had a previous car flagged by BMW for BM3 so I’m always wary, considering how they went nuclear on me.

Any more vids? Like off throttle deceleration? I like the OEM-style burbles that you can toggle on/off. Absolutely hate the aggressive burble tunes that people do though.. any word on what options exist?

It seems they can do only what is OEM so if you don’t have secondary downpipe and modified exhaust it seems those burbles are not loud enough cause stock X5M X6M its too muted.

Do you have their contact info? Haven’t touched my cats but I’ve got an exhaust. Would like to know what they touch and if the dealer is going to go ape shit over it.

I'm guessing this is some coding they are keeping close to chest. I bet if you had BimmerUtility, you could do a before and after compare of the backup files.

Very interesting...

Can you pair this tune with a piggyback as well for ex. Racechip?

It should work even with racechip I think what they are doing is just enabling disable bmw OEM options not something extra else.

Sweet, I think I'll give it a shot here next week, I have my secondary catless arriving as well as getting a custom x-pipe made. Hopefully get it sounding right!. I hope it's not as obnoxious as my f85 was with the BM3 Stage 2 Tune. Lol

Could you tell me what's all involved to get this done, hardware wise?

I think he is flashing your modules into earlier version of firmware. So pretty much backdating it.
I believe many F90 guys been doing it too.
Not so sure what going to happen when dealership need to do update or scan the car. It may get flashed back automatically when you have software update.

Exactly what I was thinking. However, the fact he so confidently says "no issues with warranty" leads me to believe it's only coding. Also, that he says it needs to be in Sport+ for it to be active. As soon as I get mine back together from doing the secondary cat delete, going to try some settings I found and see if my theory is correct. Oddly the F95 doesn't have some tweaks enabled by default that were very commonly used on other models to enable sportier performance and sounds.

Yea, I am not saying it will cause anything with warranty. Just saying that it may get reverted.

i have not had any warranty issues

From what i can tell he goes in and flicks a switch that disables the overrun

its was fairly quick like 5 min so nothing too involved. No issues so far

Is this something you can do?

Unfortunately, no.
I don’t know which line to change.
I need a car in front of me to play around with.

Is it possible that you need to flash some modules like F90?
