godofwar4 There are a number of posts earlier in this thread that may answer your question. The BMW recommended sizes are F: 275/35 and R: 315/30 Personally I'd caution you to be concerned about warranty claims if you run out of spec tires and have transfer case issues.

Matt 335is wroteHere are +1 aspect ratio and width 22s on an X6, the exact spec tires I'll be going with(285/40/22 & 325/35/22). Looks great and the sidewall doesn't appear that much taller.

If issues do come up, BMWNA is starting to get VERY strict about warranty replacements or even fluid change coverage. Tires have to match the door; yes taller tires are used on the X7, and it utilizes the same transfer case, but they can deny you at any moment.
Out side of warranty coverage, yes it creates more wear but no more than the X7s do from factory. Running taller tires or not, the design of the transfer case (used across multiple models) needs its fluid changed every 20-30,000 miles... the current service schedule for 2026's reflects that now.

Hypothetically can you feel the difference in up sizing? yes, but at the same time the x5 is lighter and drivetrain parts are 1:1 between the x5 & x7 so the transfer case will have a easier life in the x5 utilizing x7 sized tires; there is no question to that. Can the x5 also spin a taller 31" tire, yes it can but the main point is warranty becomes a fine line.....
Long story short, dealer feedback has always been just make sure you have the factory specs on the car when you have a warranty claim.
