visegrip72 wroteI did notice some distortion when I first had it installed (when wearing my polarized glasses). I don’t ever notice it now. It may have just been during the ‘curing’ phase that I noticed it.How does the windshield tint do with polarized sunglasses? When I wear my polarized shades, I can see oddities in some tints. Some are really bad, others just color distortions. Really just like the clarity of the windshield.
I'm quite happy with it, 70% on the windshield lets me drive at night with good visibiity, I have not much use for sunglases in the car, because there is less glare, but if the sun is right in front, I do put my sunglasees on.
Gladiator1972 wroteIt is a little lighter, maybe 25% matches best. I got 35% because it is the local legal limit for the front windows.Does 35% match the darkness of the factory tint or is it lighter?

I understand #1, but #2 seems to me to be an excuse… should I go to a different shop, or is there some merit to that concern?
The shop I chose is one of the longest existing and I’ve had good experience with them so far (they put ceramic coating on 2 of my previous cars). They work with lots of higher end cars and do ceramic, PPF, tinting and interior care. Not some random newbies…
matowi wrote#2 is a valid claim, Some cars are worst than others.....as module may be directly underneath.risk of claims from any damages which can be caused with the installation procedure which requires the use of „a lot of water”

However, any -competent tinter- wouldn't have any concerns for the most past as there are -soak ropes- they stuff in the cavity primarily to catch this water during this process. In addition to putting up the same protection ontop of the dash.
Maybe he's just had bad luck and had to spend $$$$ on a replacement module out of pocket and just weary......but with the said, see Sentence #2. Should not be a issue at all...
that was what I was thinking as well - so many cars out there with tinted glass, that I'd be hardly the first person to experiment on with - meaning, there must be solutions for this.
On the other hand, I do understand how uncomfortable and risky the procedure is... reaching to the windshield, removing all the fine particles, getting rid of air bubbles, avoiding warping of the film... I can think of a lot of reasons they don't want to touch it
Gladiator1972 wroteSunroof as well?I'm probably gonna do 70% nano-ceramic tint on the windshield, as well as the other windows.
Definitely makes a difference heatwise, best way to explain it is that with the heat of the sun on the dash the AC doesn’t seem to struggle to keep the cabin at a comfortable temperature like it did prior. There’s definitely rainbowing with polarized sunglasses, but it’s not to the point where I find it bothersome, at least not yet. I do think I may swap my lenses with nonpolarized for the set that stays in my car though.
Heat rejection is noticeable but not major. Installer warned that any darker and I'd be cop bait.
Mikemann wroteI have the same setup you mentioned. I live in so California and tinted windows are a must , even cops don’t bother with it. There’s no worries about visibility for front windshield at night. But I would say the 15% on the sides make difficult to see out in dark streets. I sometimes have to roll down the window to see outAnyone regret tinting their front windshield? How is night driving? I am considering 55%, but have never tinted my windshield on previous vehicles. Currently have the front 2 side windows at 15% ceramic.
RhinoComp wroteHow has your Air 80 held up since you installed it? Would you recommend it?Had my windshield done with Llumar Air80 and the front windows done with Xpel 20% (what the shop chose to match the rears perfectly). Taycan parked next to be does not have windshield tint, so you can get somewhat of a visual of how dark the Air80 is compared to untinted. Air80 I believe is 77% VLT.
