you can also set the app to octave measurement in the RTA which lines up well with the EQ in the X5 - play some pink noise and make some real time adjustments. just don't set the decay too slow or too fast.

xdsm06 wroteYep, I still use it and it’s been awesome. Fills in the lower end nicely. I used old fashioned test tones and sound pressure meter to flatten the sound curve using the eq and am very happy with the sub.How has it been now that you have had it for awhile? Are you still using the Rockville? I am interested in going this route as I would like just a little more bass but keep things stock looking.
starlights wroteAwesome, thank you for the update. I think I am going to go this route as I do like some bass but I am not looking for block bumping. I feel like BMW should have put a subwoofer in the spare tire like a lot of other manufacturers and this would basically be the equivalent if they did.Yep, I still use it and it’s been awesome. xdsm06 wroteOr they should at least verify the performance of the sound system in the cars.Awesome, thank you for the update. I sat in a Fully loaded, brand new 7 Series today, with the high end audio system. Sounded awful. Probably had the usual timing, phase issue with the Woofers.
Then I sat in an iX with HK, and was suprised how well it sounded. It had really nice low end.
I am starting to think that some models don’t have problems, while others do. BMW may not be aware of these issues.
xdsm06 wroteKeep in mind it requires breaking in before it starts sounding great…Awesome, thank you for the update. starlights wroteI was able to get this installed this weekend. Already a nice improvement on the low end that the HK was lacking compared to my old Audi Bang and Olufsen system. No issues fitting with the factory spare although I did have to remove the styrofoam tool holder from the wheel center. I will figure out how to fit the tools without it and where they aren't moving around. No urgency as I do have the runflats as well.Keep in mind it requires breaking in before it starts sounding great…
How long was the break in?
My settings are currently no bass boost, gain about halfway, phase 0, and cutoff around 60-70

50% will say it needs break in, the other half will say don’t worry about it.
I am guessing you are not planning on listening to it on full volume, right?
Don’t overdrive it. Enjoy it.
xdsm06 wroteI think mine started sounding better after about 10-20 hours of use and moderate volume. As I have a 2020 Pre LCI, I was able to code in B&W in the head unit that gave me a nice equalizer and multiple sound stage options (Stadium, Studio, Arena etc) - Studio sounds the best with some eq settings. Sub Gain is at 11 o'clock position. Since bass can vary quite a bit between albums, I have set one of the numbered buttons on HU to bring up the sound management menu to lower or raise the bass if required. Other settings are same as yours. Experiment with the fader and surround settings. In my case I am near max surround setting and that's what makes the music sound great (very counterintuitive)I was able to get this installed this weekend.
