I never had any good experiences with Advantage, to be honest with you, although I kept on trying them. My last two I got them from BMW West, and the previous three were from BMW of San Antonio.
CiprianS wroteWest was the first place I approached since they are closest to me, but they were a bit off from some of the other offers I received.I am waiting for an answer from BMW West, but until I get it, I am preparing some ammo.

I hope you are able to reach a good deal soon. Good luck!

CiprianS wroteI honestly think you'd be surprised what you can get out of state, even after shipping. I'm at 12% off all X5 trims, except for M comp., out of Illinois - for orders or for in-stock cars. The doc. fee is only $400 there too. That is also before loyalty/corporate, and it does not include the dealership contribution. That makes it 12% plus $2,000 for loyalty and $1,000 for lease/finance.Really? I have just sent you a PM. Thank you for the info!
Abbybear wroteOut of state repairs typically still count as "reasonable attempt" to fix, and the manufacturer warranty would still apply. We we are talking about repairs at dealerships after all.Lemon laws may not apply to any vehicle that gets purchased in one state but is registered in another. This is something that I recently discovered. Let me know if I am wrong, but it's definitely something anyone should consider if buying out of state. This is because most Lemon Laws are State specific....
After 24 years of military service, at any one time I was always driving at least two cars that were not purchased in my duty state. I personally don't think this would amount to a major issue
Abbybear wroteThat can be the case, it depends on the state. Some cover all vehicles registered in the state while others only cover those purchased in that state. For example, Washington will only cover those purchased or leased in the state: "The Lemon Law covers most classes of new motor vehicles including “demonstrators” originally purchased or leased at retail in Washington.". New York for example covers all vehicles registered in the state: "These cars can be purchased, leased, registered, or transferred to New York."Lemon laws may not apply to any vehicle that gets purchased in one state but is registered in another. viperdoc wroteCan be a very big deal. Most, if not all, states that have state specific purchase rules also have exceptions for active duty military. For example: " If you are a member of the armed forces stationed or residing in Washington, a new vehicle brought with you from another state is also covered by Washington’s Lemon Law if it was purchased or leased with a manufacturer written warranty within the last 30 months and the vehicle otherwise meets the definition of a ‘new motor vehicle’."
TurtleBoy wroteHuh...Ok so this is more an issue if you're out of warranty, correct? I can't imagine BMW not honoring the manufacturer warranty because it was purchased out of state. Or maybe you are meaning that if things are going majorly wrong in Washington, and you purchased in Texas, that the lemon law may not help you if you wanted the washington dealer to use the lemon law the replace the vehicle.... but BMW would still have to fix it (if the warranty is valid)Can be a very big deal. viperdoc wroteNo, the vehicle must be in warranty but I think you are misunderstanding the Lemon Law. That is for when the manufacture is not able/willing to repair the vehicle. TurtleBoy wrotegot it....I understand the law, I just haven't ever had an issue with a BMW so bad that I wanted the Lemon Law to kick in. But your point is a good one. A quick google search showed that NJ and WA are the two best states for lemon laws, so maybe this should drive MORE purchases out of state in the future?? Unfortunately Colorado got an "F", which is where i have purchased a few vehicles fromNo, the vehicle must be in warranty but I think you are misunderstanding the Lemon Law. CiprianS wroteIt will depend on what state the dealer is in but in general you don't pay any taxes on the out of state purchase and pay them when you register the car in your state.Does anyone know the process for dealing with brokers for out of state dealers when doing a PCD? Who pays the taxes and stuff? Or is there a topic that I missed about this?

TurtleBoy wroteA good lemon lawyer can also bring a claim under the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act, so it's not a big deal. That can be the case, it depends on the state. Bergy4Selke37 wroteYes, that is a decent discount. Assuming there are no extra fees it should be a good deal. It all depends on whether the dealer has an allocation or not and when it is for. Worst case (order at the beginning of a month with an allocation for the end of the next month) should be about two months in your location. Best case about three weeks. Is 10% off MSRP on ordered non-individual X5 40i xDrive a reasonable discount to find currently in New England region? And anyone know rough wait time on non-individual orders (3-4 months?)
