Has anyone replaced the surrounding fog light trim, my assumption based on limited info is removing the wheel well lining and pulling it out. See pics for reference.

Is this all one piece? I just purchased a 2023 M50i with the Cerium colored trim, but I would prefer to swap out for black but am having a hard time finding the right part number of what requires replacement. Has anyone done this?

It looks to be one piece.

Hey it is is actually three pieces, the gloss black part, the honeycomb grill and the main body piece that everything snaps into.

There is another post on here that has the part numbers and you can get from place like get bmw parts etc. I’ll keep looking for it and update if I find it.

Was lucky to find someone on here selling a complete set. eBay might be another good alternative.

Believe you have to remove the front bumper to install it, same position as you replacing the cernium silver pieces. Just need to get a glass black slatted grill. All of the ones on eBay somehow are always damaged.

I know this is an old thread but just posting for anyone interested. I also had cerium gray trim on the front bumper and the only thing I could find was one used passenger side or these from ebay

https://ebay.us/m/SvI3Gd

Would require taking off the complete bumper which I didn’t feel like doing just yet. Will wait for more things that require removal of the bumper. In the meantime though I was looking at the trim pieces and just wanted to give it a go with a trim removal tool. Wow was it easy to pop off. I’ve taken mine off and am getting them sprayed gloss black. I think once I do that I won’t really have to get those other parts on eBay. I’ll post some pics once completed.

If anyone is interested, I have a few close up pics of the painted boomerang trim. I think it looks great.

You said that you popped the trim pieces off without taking off the bumper? Did you by chance take any pictures showing where the clips are that hold the boomerang on? I'd love to take mine of and paint them as you did. I have black covers over them now but the black is just slightly different shade and it's bugging me enough to try something like this.

Take a look on the first post, it shows the clip locations, it may help you.

That one is different that the one that I was inquiring about. It doesn't have the boomerang piece that needs to come off, which is cerium grey from the factory and is the piece that needs to be painted.

Yeah it’s super easy. Just get a trim tool and start at the top or bottom edge. It popped right off. Just give it a go, go slow. You can use two trim tools if you have it. Just get one edge started, leaving the trim tool in there and then use the next one and just keep doing it like that. Honestly it took all of 20-30 seconds to pop them off

Edit: sorry, no I didn’t take any pictures. I completely forgot

That should give me enough info to go off of. I have an entire set of trim tools so that should make things easier as well. Appreciate the help.

I am going to give this a go this weekend, after looking over this thread. I only need to replace the fog light cover (no fog light behind it on my model) 51-11-8-099-731

I'm just unclear if these steps meant the entire assembly (three pieces) or just the foglight.
