To those that bought this valve controller. Did you have to pay import fees?

They shipped mines DHL and I did not pay any import fees.

Appreciate the feedback. Think I’m going to order soon.

After the 3 weeks I waited for the 11 mode controller to show up, I installed it. Took around 5 minutes as the ass end of the 2026 X5 M60i is closer to the ground than expected so had to do a little squeezing.

I'll run with this for a couple weeks before I see if I need to pull the trigger on an exhaust.
Tried sending you a message. Inbox is full. Lmk how you were able to unplug the valves. On my M60i there is very minimal room to get them unplugged via on the ground. Seems like I have to remove the plastic panel covering it.

There accessibile without removing anything. It’s tight but it’s doable. Don’t remove anything. Worst case is jack up the car to give yourself more room to access.

Yup agreed. Plenty of room if you just lay down and get underneath the back box section. I was in and done in 5 mins (mind you I had one side to do) but even 10 mins is a generous amount of time.

I take delivery of my 26 X5 M60i on the 20th. To those with the 11mode valve controller, what’re your opinions on its impact? Does it bring out enough of the V8 or do you feel like you still need additional improvements?

Addition mods are required to get the car to be where you want it.

I figured so. Considering a valve controller with resonator delete and an x-pipe. I’m not sure if I wanna spring for an aftermarket exhaust just yet lol.

I am in the same boat. Trying to figure out the best route for a nice tone without going down a deep rabbit hole.

Yeah unfortunately there really isn’t any consensus on the best course of action. Have you happened to drive with the pumped in noise off? If so, does the exhaust still pop and gurgle? When I test drove I didn’t even think to turn it off and listen

Yikes, what a disappointment. But I guess I’m not the first to think that. Thanks for the help!

I’m going to swap out the secondary DPs for Evolution Racewerkes DPs and see how the sound is. It it doesn’t make much of a difference, I’m going to swap out the midline with the Dinan one.

I just installed them on my '25 M60i today. It was a little tight to get to them, even with the air suspension at the highest setting. I ended up dropping the lower valance on the passenger side for easier access. In total it took about 30 minutes to get them installed. There is a difference with them open, but not huge. For $180 I think it was worth it. I will likely look at downpipes as the next upgrade and plan on leaving the stock muff.

I have them installed on my ‘23 M50i equipped with an X5M Comp muffler. With the valves open, it gives a menacing rumble on cold starts and aggressive barks on upshifts in Sports mode. Mine came via DHL as well and took about 3.5 weeks to show up. I also have it programmed to my Homelink to open the valves. Couldn’t program to close because I already use two of my buttons for each of my 2 garage doors.
