Hello everyone,
I just want to share my second mod on this beast
Maxton Design Front Splitter V.2 😍

In the beginning I tried to have some ship install it for me and they quoted me about $700 for installation LOL
So I decided to installed it my self as I had some downtime on Sunday, first I tried using the bolts and nuts that came with it, but that would require me to disassemble the bumper as I tried to do that without but I couldn't, so few drinks and 115 degrees got me into what I call it Fk it mode 😅.
I tried using rivet nuts but none of the shops around me had any decent ones at least the ones that pop or trifold and make it look "professional" install, but the ones I used wouldn't hold it and they kept falling
Finally
I installed it using 3m tape and self tapping screws (about 20 screws).
Looks amazing from the front but if you ever find my car somewhere don't look underneath 🤣😂

Looks great man Maxton really coming through with the heat atm!

"Looks amazing from the front but if you ever find my car somewhere don't look underneath 🤣😂" HAHAHAHAHA  we'll be sure not to peak lol I'm glad to see I'm not the only beginner level DIY'er starting to take on projects lol I did a few installs recently and working on a couple more, kept my arms and my legs, shops around my area want to charge more than double what a licensed therapist with a masters degree charges :slice:

Man I 100% agree, I decided to do the DIY even though my skill sets are in IT LOL
I'm in Arizona and so far I can't find any decent place for any project without getting that 5 star bill with around few weeks turn around, one shop wanted to charge me around $550 I was gonna give in but then he said "it will take 3 weeks", 3 Weeks for a front splitter???

If anyone knows a good shop in Arizona please let me know 😬

3 weeks is insane for that install :bonk:

Ultimate Auto Works in Scottsdale is the best! Half the shop dedicated to racecars, half to maintenance and service.

Been using them since I got my first M3 20 years ago...

Great choice! I did the fill Maxton kit on my pre LCI and I love it too. Consider adding the rear it makes the car look like a wide body haha.

I have the rear splitter in my garage, just waiting to have some downtime from work to install it, any tips or suggestions for installing it? This time I'm going directly with 3m tape and self tapping screws so I don't waste time lol

For the Maxton rear splitter you can use self tapping screws for the sides. But for the main part you will need to drill 5 holes and insert retainer clip push pins to secure it into place. The retainer clips are provided by Maxton. No 3M tape needed.

Nice the diffuser is a nice touch! For directions exactly what you said haha! I think the tricky or challenging part is just getting the small diffuser to clip into the big diffuser and the OEM diffuser haha. Just requires patience. The 3M tape was just added cushion and holding strength.

Those skirts look like they drop pretty far down. How much clearance do you have from the bottom of the skirts to the ground?

I think the unlevel ground and grassy surface on is playing a huge role in how it looks. Because the front and rear are probably technically lower. But the side skirts stick out just enough where they don't get in the way when exiting the car. And as for drop maybe .5-.75" is added nothing crazy. I'll make my own post soon, so I don't photobomb another persons post haha.

I really don't like the side wings on the LCI lips. It blends really well with a black paint job, but I have Marina Bay Blue and it would stick out too much for me. I just emailed the to see if they'll be coming out with one like the non-LCI had which I prefer.

Edit: They said they do not plan to make any others for the X5M...

Do you have a front shot of it? Looks great!

Has anyone install this lip on a Marina Bay Blue LCI F95 yet? I'm back and forth on this once again. 😆

Edit: Where can I buy this other than the Maxton site. They want the same amount for shipping which is a load of crap.

Where did you order your rear taillights from if you don’t mind me asking ? Any water seeping into them ? Other have had condensation issues with the aftermarket rear tailgates and I’m trying to find a solid supplier.

Just made a purchase on alibaba and the person refunded because “Unfortunately, my technician has just told me that there seems to be a potential problem here regarding the US version, as it has some technical incompatibility issues with the Chinese headlights” love your setup, those fire wheels, Maxton rear and taillights def give it a wide body look

I just put this same lip on Brooklyn Grey. Looks really good imo.

I saw the crazy pricing on shipping too from the US site. Go to their UK store. It was $370ish all in with shipping. It was very quick to get here too. Less than 1 week to the east coast.

$366 with shipping to Florida using Paypal. Much better.
