I'm assuming catback exhausts must void some warranty and was wondering if anyone knew definitively?
aussieintexas wroteThen where does it come out underneath? After all that I found a good entry spot underneath the spare tire. It’s a little tight to get it over the top of the torsion adaptive suspension thingy but not impossible. Picked up a couple of 1 inch plugs from Ace hardware and just slotted it for the wire little bit 3M tape around the edge to stop the wire rubbing and seal it. Bob’s your uncle Attached a couple of photos if anyone’s finding themselves in that spot now I just have to find a fuse that is an accessory fuse.😉
Csaint422 wroteIt is right above the adaptive suspension module that is attached to the rear sway barThen where does it come out underneath?
I haven't it but a mile since I just picked it up but it does sound very good.
a1gio2 wroteI have an d ALMOST ready to pull the trigger on my X6M50i exhaust...but my mechanic told me o come by on Sat and he will lock my valves open to see if I like that sound FIRST before I spend the 2500....or going Alibaba with CZE Emily for 1200 shipped WITHOUT tips.Has anyone heard of Yonristic Performance exhausts? Good bad or indifferent.

Nutinup wroteIf you're in between do catted downpipes and valve controller. I did that first and really liked it. Cost give it take the same or less depends which you ones you go with and you actually get some performance gains.I have an d ALMOST ready to pull the trigger on my X6M50i exhaust...but my mechanic told me o come by on Sat and he will lock my valves open to see if I like that sound FIRST before I spend the 2500....or going Alibaba with CZE Emily for 1200 shipped WITHOUT tips.
Nutinup wroteGet him to remove the remove the resonator at the same time, opening the valves won’t do much. Also look at secondary downpipes. I’m very happy with these mods.I have an d ALMOST ready to pull the trigger on my X6M50i exhaust...but my mechanic told me o come by on Sat and he will lock my valves open to see if I like that sound FIRST before I spend the 2500....or going Alibaba with CZE Emily for 1200 shipped WITHOUT tips.
aussieintexas wroteWhere you really not able to use your sst controller? I'm using my MAD controller no problem with the valvetronic exhaustThanks. Yeh I don’t think power Source is really an issue. Interested to hear back on where they feed the wires through.
aussieintexas wroteStopped by the shop yesterday as they were installing the Valvetronic exhaust, said he found a grommet in the bottom of the tire well to run the wires. (Yes I have a spare tire),'24 X5 M60. For those who asked about keeping the OEM exhaust, its 11' long, 5'-6" wide at the gigantic muffler. Sorry about the messy garage, I'm in the middle of a project. Haven't seen/heard the finished project yet, will pick up sometime today. For those who have done the valvetronic or I think the dahler is the same where did you run the wire into the rear cargo area to get the power from the fuse and what Gromit or other access did you use?
BSfmAZ wroteSo that would mean we'd need to take the wheel well back some to get it thru?Stopped by the shop yesterday as they were installing the Valvetronic exhaust, said he found a grommet in the bottom of the tire well to run the wires. Csaint422 wroteI probably could’ve if I’ve changed the connectors. The Val Tronic has different connectors than the OEM but I went with the valve Tronic anyway.Where you really not able to use your sst controller? I'm using my MAD controller no problem with the valvetronic exhaust
AeasyB58 wroteI paid $500. Didn't put the tips on and they painted the outlet pipes gloss black. I also already had my own valve controller that I had installed, so not sure if those two things factored into your price, but 2,100 sounds awfully high. Maybe they charged an extra hour of labor just unboxing and organizing all the pieces lolAnyone have any quotes from shops on install prices? I just paid 2100 to get it put on.. feel like that’s a lot.
Csaint422 wrotePicked up my '24 X5M60 the other day after they installed the Valvetronic exhaust without the supplied tips. Overall its OK, not sure what I expected, but maybe I would have gone another direction, (downpipes, resonator delete, etc.) but I'm not sure. Sound is good, quiet when valves are closed, but not as quiet as stock, not too loud when opened. I do have a problem with the tips, the solution with the ones provided by Valtronics hasn't settled with me. I don't like the look with the trim pieces removed. I am considering having a local shop fabricate some end pieces. I played around with some 3" cardboard tubes to see how they would look. (obviously not attached) Three inch tubes match the end of the Valvetronic provided pipes and fit through the bumper without removing the outer trim piece. If I do this I'll have the pieces powder coated. Here are some pictures, let me know what U think? So now that a lot of us have it installed now, what is everyone's opinion of it? Sound wise, we all know the tips issues if you go that route.
This is what my "extensions" are made from, Pringles are = 3"!
BSfmAZ wroteSo I think we'd still face similar issues with the outlet pipes not being the same length or coming out straight due to fitment... I thought about your idea but didn't think of getting them made as I know nobody makes and sells 3" to 3"

My thoughts on adding tips I think it could look good however I think it would look better with the m50i trim without the divider in the middle than the m60i trim has.
aussieintexas wroteWas scrolling the thread bc I put the Valvetronic on my x7. I heard about the SST and ordered 1. Shop couldn't install - actuators didn't fit and OEMs off the x7 didn't either. Per VD the lcis must use a newer type of actuator because I ended up ordering the actuators from the F gen. Easy swap after that. Not a huge fan of the VD controller (and my antenna broke off!) but it did work.Interesting the installer just contacted me. Said the actuators of the OEM doesn’t fit onto the valve Tronic exhaust. I’ll head down there in a bit and have a look.
The SST just gives me the half open and stock sound when I want it and to me it was worth the cost and hassle. Plus it didn't need to be plugged into the 12v.
Csaint422 wroteI’m really pleased with the outcome. Good pop and overrun. Not real loud in the cabin. Just a small drone at certain rpm’s. I went stock look and wonder if small extensions closer to the bumper would reduce even the small drone. So now that a lot of us have it installed now, what is everyone's opinion of it? aussieintexas wroteI'm thinking the drone is a result of the x pipe. Did people get a little drone when they did a resonator delete?I’m really pleased with the outcome. Good pop and overrun. i have a BNIB system at my place in Washington state i will sell to anyone who is interested, covering my costs would be best (i had the group buy amount) 2700 USD for the system and whatever shipping is needed....
We began troubleshooting and discovered that there was no power. Upon closer inspection, I pulled the cigarette plug and noticed that the metal tip was in. After unscrewing it, we saw that the fuse was way back inside, which shouldn't be the case. We tried to get it to pop out, but it wouldn't budge, so I opened the plug. Unfortunately, the fuse was blown, and the inside appeared to be melted.
I'll be attempting to rewire it tomorrow, and if that doesn't work, I might have to replace the entire controller. Despite these setbacks, I am pleased with how the exhaust tips look now. However, it is becoming increasingly frustrating as it seems like one problem after another keeps cropping up with this exhaust system.
