Thanks for this! It was an in-stock on the lot. It's such a game at the beginning, you know? Meaning, until you've done it a few times and know the facts, it's tough to negotiate. Once you know what you *could* get based on what others in your geo have, it makes negotiating a lot easier, as there's a confidence in the offer. I am learning quite a bit from this group and am thankful! I'll go for 10% next time firm @ the end of month, and if it's on the lot, good to know they even sometimes sell at 12%.
In my specific case, I don't
think I had a case of tunnel vision (maybe I did??) but since the model I acquired had the Shadowline package, 22" black rims, M, etc., I just feel like they really felt they could get someone to pick it up at full MSRP who didn't really care about $$ or someone who wanted it and would be OK with something like $3k or $4k off. Just the vibe I got when I was there. But maybe that was part of the sell. If so, it worked, haha. Hard to say for sure. Oh well! I'm still happy with the deal at 8%. Life is too short. I'm having a blast driving it!
Thanks again for the insight; very helpful for me!
