Ask her what she paid vs what it would cost to buy - bet it was cheaper to make. Consider it sir. You might be very happy with the outcome and cheaper to boot!
It was a fair price for the size she needed; she wasn’t able to find the size in a typical furniture store. The Amish really hooked her up. :D I will ask her if she wants to go custom this time around.

Do those arm rest look a little thin for a relaxing type chair?
...and the chair heights and thick bottom cushions makes both options look like butt magnets, that will be uncomfortable to exit and make your legs hurt while sitting.

Sometimes the design(s) can be deceiving. I’ve sat on/in things that looked comfortable, but ended up being very uncomfortable…and vice versa.
My old bones and deep vein thrombosis concerns use the required height of an ADA toilet (17-19 inches) as a minimum seat height with the cushions compressed.

If you go the custom route, I like the arm width of your lady's former chairs in the table pictures.....

We would’ve kept those chairs, too, if they weren’t damaged by the movers during that particular move. We ultimately sold them on OfferUp.

Issue #1 of 17 is finally…..seemingly….resolved.

Due to the water feature mechanism being installed early on, it became clogged with plaster and all sorts of junk, rendering its functionality impaired (…flow was sporadic and not a clean sheet of water). When we withheld final payment until all 17 items were taken care of, the contractor sure did get moving.

I agree.

We are doing the deck, but the HOA is killing me they will not allow black spindles.

Pics to come…
Deck -Before and After. Had to keep simple due to the fashion police aka the HOA

Continuing on with 400K+ diy reno for 200K. I was looking at the old kitchen bench after gyprocking my new office nook pondering on what to do. To date we have kept the same bench tops for all things benchy, but will be putting something different on the kitchen. The house also has the same themed storage through out so will use colour to differentiate kitchen from house.

So why not re use the breakfast bar top for a desk, and a couple range hood doors with some for new pull out draws for dusky storage. The PC, modem and printer will go behind the nook in a cupboard. Out with the saw and away I go.

We were lucky enough to spend time in France late last year. Before we even left the wife found our trip souvenir at Vinnies (homeless-welfare supplies type shop) for $10. Reckon it will go nicely above the desk.

Since the topic of White Castle has come up before in this thread IIRC, I just saw a news article that there are *three* White Castle restaurants in Las Vegas! Sadly, the news article was reporting that two of the three were permanently closing as of last weekend.

Sedan_Clan's user avatarSedan_Clan should probably go find the remaining restaurant and scarf down some belly-bombers while they are still available locally, in case that one meets the same fate.....

Haha! You know what’s funny? I don’t really recall seeing a WC burger joint in Vegas. I probably have driven by one but completely overlooked it.

I can *guarantee* that you drove right past one and didn't see/notice the signs! :)

Sedan_Clan's user avatarSedan_Clan thank you! Working on the garage now. Finishing and getting slatwall installed. As a car guy, should have been project 2. But we concentrated on the inside.

Very Nice!
What brand of Decking/Railing?

Just recently finished a deck project, Timbertech Composite, RDI Aluminum Railings and Barrette LED Lights.

Installed the Bedrug mat in the new truck. I was going to attach using velcro, but this has the plastic drop in bedliner unlike my old truck.. and there really are no good adhesion points... plus "stick-a-bility" to the plastic liner is poor.. so used plastic push pins....
