These two are about 18 months old , brother and sister. They have been inseparable since kittens.

Having our munchkin ragdoll spayed next month- had zero experience with a female cat in heat, very very annoying.

Cats don't need quaaludes. Their liver naturally produces them.

That explains the sedative effect they have on us when they settle in for that lap time.

So.

There are these new "yummies" on the market called "Bonkers".

Yes, as far as the felonious felines are concerned, they are and you will be.

I heard a crash while I was reading, so I went up to the pantry.

This? THIS is what I found. Max (my poor, sweet, innocent, never caused trouble, just wants to snuggle boy) managed to get on the shelf, knock the Big Container of Bonkers down, get his head stuck in the lid, gorge himself, and them stroll out, pleased as punch.

Note that his understudy (Bailey) was with him the ENTIRE time.

Sheesh.

"Bonkers" are WELL NAMED!

Hilarious. These were introduced to me as 'crack for cats' and I don't think they were wrong. I think getting stuck in a lid counts as 'use despite harm'.

Yeah, when God created "Fire and Floof", he *definitely* knew what he was doing.

Max, Bailey and Piper enjoying the evening.

Boo? Is over being "emo" in his heated basket by the sliding glass door.

I'm starting to worry (more) about Max.

He's 15 years old and is starting to be pretty creaky when he walks (even with his monthly Solencia shot) and is spending a lot more time sleeping (and demanding Lap Time) than he ever did--- I'm starting to think he has one foot on the Rainbow Bridge.

That? Will be a Very Bad Day.

However, the two terrorists (who are not related to him at all) love, love, LOVE Cat Dad. They follow him everywhere, get into shenanigans together, and are generally inseparable.

This is what I found on our bed this morning after I got out of the shower.

Love em while you got them. Don't fret the future.

My girl will be 14 in a couple months. Love an old cat in the house. So used to her and her routines and she's so used to us.

Very comfortable.

Nothing lasts forever, though. One day she'll be gone and another sweet fur baby will be in her place. Circle of life.

Apparently, Bailey had *serious* snuggles with Mom today while Dad's out moving the mail.

Abigail tends to like to get up and lay on the couch next to me while I'm relaxed watching a bit of television.

So true. Sad, but true.

My kitty buddy started drinking much more water recently. I noticed
this last Tuesday. It seemed sudden. As a result, I am cleaning lumps
out of his litter box several times a day. Other than that, his behavior
is totally normal. I plan to take him to the vet tomorrow for a check
up. Although there are several causes, its probably symptoms of
kidney failure. Been down this road many times. 😢

Here's hoping for something temporary or correctible; been down this route many times myself and it is never easy (but I keep going back for more).

Grew up with dogs most of my life, but this lil guy is my new buddy. Herds me when it’s time for bed, and loves sunbathing.

Hoping for the best for your kitty. Give him some extra love and attention to help him get through this. It's always a big deal when my cat goes to vet. Hope your cat is calmer than mine. Let us know how it goes with the results.

PS - have had cats all my life but never had one get kidney disease even though it's a common problem for older cats.

Again, hoping for the best outcome for yours.

He got very restless late Tuesday night, so I took him to a nearby
24/7 Pet Emergency Center. To make a 48 hour story short, I had
to put him down yesterday afternoon. His blood numbers were off
the chart. Pancreatitis, fatty liver, adjacent tissues involved. The
vet offered a treatment plan that required 3 more days in the hospital
with iffy best outcome of insulin and blood tests for life. I couldn’t
put him through that. Vet said I made the right choice. My kitty
was about 16 years old. He was a stray I took in 4 years ago. I
really, really miss him. And my wife, too. She’s been in memory
care for 7 months now. House is too quiet…
