Thank you for a very useful thread. Got my X5 on April 4 and received very good help from Cody, referenced in this topic multiple times.
There is one aspect that makes me super confused though - mostly related to the discussion between , and in
posts 374 through 379. Does current VSC (or Fidelity Platinum) cover wear & tear items, like brake pads, rotors and spark plugs? I was sure that the answer is no, but it seems (based on your discussion) that it actually does? What's the point of Ultimate Care+ then, just to get labor for free?
Just for context - I'm not driving a lot, probably less than 6,000 miles per year, meaning I will hit 42,000 miles in 7 years I intend to keep the car, or 48,000 if I keep it for 8 years. If VSC covers brake pads & rotors replacement, it's worth taking the extended warranty (VSC Platinum) for $3.3K (7yr / 60k miles), but if it's not covered, this would be close to wasting money, as the car probably won't experience serious issues before 60,000 miles or even later. It would be great to have a definite answer on that, thanks in advance.
