I got the active sub today from Amazon. Harness won't be here till Thursday. I hate USPS Ground Advantage!Got some OFC wire, copper lugs, and some connectors coming. This is so easy compared to other sub I have done.
I guess there are 2 white plugs that stay unplugged. I contacted them just to sure.

EDIT: This is plugged into the wrong plug. After plugging it into the correct plug, plug the last two together.

UPS was delayed! Only missing the lugs for the 8 gauge power wires.

99.99999% done.Just need power
I bought an 8mm fine thread wingnut and washere from Ace Hardware. Nice and tight fit. Didn't have to cut that threaded rod.

doctorwizz wroteLooking good. You can prob pick some up at Best Buy or auto zone. Maybe harbor freight?FML Still waiting on the copper lug things from UPS99.99999% done.

doctorwizz wroteYes. The blue remote wire needs a signal for the amp in the speaker to switch onWon't turn on. Do I need the blue remote wire? I don't know what to connect it to.
I was so careful to maintain speaker phase when I made my harness. Either mine is bad or the Tech harness is.
I have speaker level to line level converter with remote turn on wire I could try. If that don't work, something is wrong with the Technic. They don't answer emails anymore.

Fortunato1 wroteLeave the fronts. Leave them all. This sub makes it sound like you upgraded every frieakin' speaker!!! The bass this put out is just incredible! It's the only upgrade you need! Get one now! You will be blown away! Take it from a guitar player audiophile.I have been thinking about do this exact setup. I was going to replace the fronts with Focal leave the under seat subs and add the CV. How does it sound?
I don't need a blue wire! It detects a signal and turns off and on as needed. You can hear a thump when it come on.
Here is the harness correctly attached for a HiFi (Option 676). Yours may be different.

AmIRight?
That would make the Rockville the best choice since it's only 149.95
They probably all sound the same.
They may sound better using the high level inputs instead of the line level. I saw a review somewhere that said that.
doctorwizz wroteAwesome. Glad u got it figured out! I think the Rockville and CV are pretty similar. The JBL is larger (taller) so I think it’s definitely different - I’d hope so for the price premiumSo it looks like the Rockville V2 Ghost, Cerwin Vega, and the JBL are all the same units. Just a slightly different metal shell. Rebadged with the same specs.

TexasFlyer wroteIt’s designed to fit within a full sized spare. Can’t guarantee fitment for this vehicle but in theory it should work.Does this sub/spare work with an actual spare tire stored there? All photos are shown w/o spare tire.
I asked what the other plugs were for.
This harness if only for X5's that have HiFi (Option 676)
It is that female black plug on the harness that the OEM RAM plug plugs into.
The black plug in the middle of this pic.
Those sub output wire are connected to the wrong plug
Thinking of going with Rockville V2 to keep costs down. I have a couple of questions.
1. Does the harness provide power to the sub?
2. Connectivity to sub with the sub harness looks easy enough but would you be able to show how you mated the harnesses together?
3.Did you go with low level inputs?
4. Any other tips or gotchas to watch out for?
Thanks!
