I can't get my old spoiler to come off. I removed all of the screws underneath and just can't get the thing to budge. I am standing directly behind the car with the rear door closed. With my fingers in the crack between the spoiler and the roof I have tried pulling very hard but nothing budges.

Any suggestions?

I havent done this myself as of yet.. still on my todo list.
I did not find videos for G05 but maybe something is shared from an older model?

Pull Harder.....it feels like something will break but it won't. It's just tight...

Post #18. See those 2 plastic tabs in the circle. If I'm going off memory, this is part that is where the resistence is.....
Once it starts moving, the entire thing moves freely

Ok. I'll give that a try tonight.

Another tip when u install the new one....

Same tab area we speak about. You will get it aligned about halfway in until you reach the tabs. From the top of the spoiler, just press down from the top so that plastic/tabs go *down* a but so it lines up with the slot....

It will make sense when you look at how those tabs line up once you have it off

Oh that thing will hold on for dear life. You just need to pull it back real firmly. Mine made a loud snap noise when it released and I thought sure something broke or cracked. But it was fine.

Took a minute to mark up Bob's image so others are aware of the relevant parts for the swap. All credit to him for the original.

- The squares along the top are the nuts for the 4 torx screws.
- The arrows point to the clips that can make removal a bit of a challenge.
- The circles along the bottom are tabs that need to be lined up to their appropriate slots before the final push to reengage the clips above.
- The hexagon is the area I believe others have mentioned trimming down to make this fit on the G05.

Like others in this thread, I found those clips (arrows) to be really stubborn and I couldn't get them to release with arm strength alone. I had to throw my weight backwards a bit as I yanked on the part hard enough to rock the vehicle back and forth. If I had to do it all over again, I'd probably chock the wheels, ask a friend to help with one side and 1-2-3-pull the thing off.

When reinstalling the new one, make sure to get those tabs along the bottom (circled) inserted into their slots before the final push. If those tabs are sitting high and not lining up, take a look at the area shown in the hexagon. In my case, I had to cut this down quite a bit to make it work. I have my own ideas about why some have to do this while others do not, but that may be for a different time...

Good luck!

Received my new spoiler… but I’m still confused… some of you are saying you had to shave, others are saying you don’t have to, to install it properly… I’ll be sending it out for paint, but was just wondering what the general consensus is?? I feel that the original mounting parts etc should be exactly as the ordinary x5, for cost savings… why would BMW redo all the inwards/connections etc for a rear spoiler that they could mount the same way as on a normal x5? Not trying to offend anyone here, but do the mounting clips etc not line up properly, if you don’t shave stuff down??

Trying to follow your directions:
1) remove 4 rubber caps - yes, the 4 upper ones, not the 2 lower/outer ones for the gloss black side supports.
2) unscrew 4 torx screws - yes.
3) pull back on oem spolier - pull how? Beyond flexing it won't budge for me when prying with plastic pry tools. I don't see a way to put it back without using some tools...

Thanks!
Thanks for the help! Wasn't a perfect fit as others have stated but I can live with it. Love the look of my X5 45e now with it installed. I think it compliments the aggressive sporty look I was after well.

Yes 22 all around staggered. Not sure, I believe I ordered the trunk spoiler on Amazon.

Sweet! Are they replicas? I assume the fronts at least since OEM on the F95's are 21".

Here's the IND version.

The bmwpartspros.com others have posted is probably sold out and they took it off their website.
Does the F15XM spoiler fit the new 50e LCI ?

So I can just order part nr 51628083919 with my local BMW dealer?

And is this the way to remove the spoiler?:

I don't think the F15 spoiler will fit the 50e, but the F95 will. Here's a better video of how to take the spoiler off our G05's:
