I did 70% out the door but it was too light. Hemmed and hawed on the redo as I didn't want to chance it with the leather dash. Ended up sucking it up and going 50. It's just perfect. Not overly dark and pedestrians can see if I am visually seeing them at a crosswalk and handing them off as acknowledgment
Win!
That being said I've never been stopped for the 70% on mine.

showtimeinc wroteI have 50% on the windshield (not sure on brand) and there is some very minor ripple/distortion with the HUD display. Not horrible, and don't always notice it, but it is there. Still very readable and while I notice it, my wife has never mentioned it.Has anyone noticed or experienced any changes to the way the HUD displays with different tint brands, darknesses, or just in general with the windshield tinted?
I can't imagine going darker than 50% on the front (I have 20% on the front side windows. I've noticed with this config, it can be hard to see who is in the car from the outside from head on. Overall, I'm happy with the look and tint.
blau808 wroteI was wondering about that...Just throwing it out there that full windshield tint is illegal in all states.

showtimeinc wroteNothing obvious that I can see. It still displays like OEM without tint. I went with 70% Xpel XR plus. I feel if you get any high end ceramic tint installed it you should be fine.Has anyone noticed or experienced any changes to the way the HUD displays with different tint brands, darknesses, or just in general with the windshield tinted?
I went 70%. It was too light. Hemmed and hawed as I did not want the chance of leather dashboard f-ups on redo. Bit the bullet, had it redone in 50. 50% is just right. Photos don't pick up how it looks in person but dark enough but -light enough- that as a driver, you can do a pedestrian (I see you , cross the street wave off) and it's stil visible from outside
LDT wroteNothing that I can see on my end. HUD is displaying just fine.I'm doing 20% on driver/passenger side windows and 55% on windshield. Anybody experience any HUD distortion after 55% windshield tint?

Gladiator1972 wroteCeramic or even better, Nanoceramic. So is everyone doing ceramic tint or regular film?
Investing on a good tint film brand is worth it on the long run. 3M, XPel and Madico all have good products.
