bmwsone02 wroteAbout to install mine. I noticed you did the spoiler in black. Does it match the trim just below it? I heard that hi gloss black trim below it is Jet black color code 668. You know if that's a fact?Just finished mine. Def the hint of cutting off clip made it easier. Approx about 30 min. to do.

SAC wroteSo easy to do it yourself. Save the trip and money. If you don't want to do that are on the Obssesed Garage Facebook page? I would pose that same question on there. You'll get some recommendations there.New BMW owner to this forum and I was curious if anyone would recommend a shop in Chicago that I could but and have the X5M rear roof spoiler installed on my X5.
This is what I have currently.
2025G0540i wroteLooks amazing. I have the same color, where did you purchase the spoiler and get it painted?Wasn't too bad to install. I did cut off that little fastening point. I did not test fit it before I cut it I just went ahead and did it based on all the input. The gap betweeen the 3rd light looks to be about the same as on the X5MC.
Gladiator1972 wroteI got the spoiler directly from a dealer and then had a body shop paint it.Looks amazing. I have the same color, where did you purchase the spoiler and get it painted?
Royal1262 wroteWhere did you get your trunk spoiler from? Can you provide the link? Thanks for the help! Wasn't a perfect fit as others have stated but I can live with it. Love the look of my X5 45e now with it installed. I think it compliments the aggressive sporty look I was after well.
Black_on_Black wroteThe part number is 51628083919. Google the part number and find it from the cheapest online BMW parts wholesaler with shipping.Where did you get your trunk spoiler from? Can you provide the link?
Also, see if you local BMW parts counter will give you a break on price, my dealer marks MSRP parts UP 20-30%, and then gives you a discount which is total BS. I ordered mine as well as other parts from bmwminipartssolutions.com and they are great.

2025G0540i wroteBro it is just that easy.10 min?? Come on man! No way.
4 screws.
Badda-bing, badda-boom . . .
Mind you, I did not cut off the spoiler's attachment points. I do not think it is a good idea to do so. BMW Motorsport designed the wing that way for a reason. If its good enough for an X5MC, its good enough for me.
I think of it this way: If I bought a $145k X5MC tomorrow, would I chop-up the spoiler to eliminate the 1mm gap? Of course not. But to each their own . . .

In the end I had to cut off all 3 middle tabs to get it to sit perfectly flush. Used some double sided 3M tape for a professional finish. Looks perfect with no gap or vibrations.

CPT Smuggs wroteYou didn't have to do that. It's tricky getting those tabs engaged. I've done 2 of them now and was able to get my second one engaged correctly and the gap is still there. It's the same gap the X5MC has. Maybe an 1/8"I ordered mine directly from IND and ran into the same gap problem as many others in this thread. Test fitted back and forth a million times, even reached out to support and got a "nothing wrong, it should fit perfectly". Measured the original middle tab at 1/2" height and the new one 3/4" height above the brake light contact point -- hence the noticeable gap.
